"We escaped the Delhi monsoon for an isolated stone villa in Assagao. An anonymous reflection on what happens when power is exchanged across an entire weekend."
Beyond the Party Script of Goa
When most people go to North Goa, they are chasing crowded beach clubs in Anjuna or bustling cafes in Vagator. For my dominant partner and me, this trip had only one objective: an uninterrupted 72-hour deep immersion into power dynamics.
We rented a secluded stone villa tucked away behind the banyan trees in Assagao. Before leaving the airport in Dabolim, he took possession of my smartphone, my car keys, and my wallet. For the next three days, my only responsibility was to obey, breathe, and exist.

The Protocol of Presence
The weekend operated under strict, comforting protocols established weeks in advance:
- ✦Morning Grounding: Waking up at sunrise, kneeling for fifteen minutes of silent breath meditation before preparing tea under his direction.
- ✦Somatic Immersion: Afternoon sessions on the stone courtyard involving weighted blankets, ice therapy, and rhythmic leather work.
- ✦The Silence Rule: No speaking during dinner unless responding directly to a question. This rule, which initially felt intimidating, turned out to be the greatest mental vacation I had taken in a decade.
The Return to Everyday Life
When he handed my phone back on Sunday evening at the departure gate, looking at the screen felt strange and jarring. The notifications seemed trivial compared to the deep, silent stillness we had cultivated over seventy-two hours.
